Jimmy Martinez was born in the Barriada Sierra Alta (Quarter High) Mountain range, of thePuerto Rican town of Yauco.
He was the son of Elisa Caraballo and Don Dolores Caraballo. They had ten children, six girls and four boys.
Graduated from the Yauco High School, Jimmy was known as "the Jibarito." Martinez has four children, three sons and one daughter and eight grandchildren.
As a young adult, Jimmy decided to explore new courses, emigrating to the United States of America, taking with him the desire to work in the communications field. He acquired his broadcast license from the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, DC.
Jimmy worked in broadcasting in Puerto Rico at Radio Caribe in Guayama and Radio Sol in San German, to name a couple. In Lancaster, PA, Jimmy worked at Radio Borinquen. He was also a producer for a TV station in Lancaster.
Beginning in 1996, Jimmy Martinez served as the Program Director for WMIZ in Vineland, New Jersey. He held that position for almost a decade. He has been awarded "Best DJ" by the Daily Journal of Vineland.
